Watch Courtney Barnett cover Bowie in Melbourne with Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy

Courtney Barnett joined Tweedy — aka Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy and his son Spencer — at their show in Melbourne last night to sing a cover of David Bowie’s Hunky Dory track ‘Queen Bitch’.

The show started with a series of songs from the full band. before Jeff treated fans to a set of solo acoustic Wilco classics and other favourites. The band then returned for a three-song encore that closed with Barnett’s cameo performance. Watch fan shot clips of the cover below.

In related Barnett and Wilco news, the pair have both recorded covers for the upcoming Grateful Dead tribute album Day of the Dead. The compilation is set for release on May 20 also features tributes from fellow Deadheads including The National, The Flaming Lips, Anohni, The War on Drugs, Kurt Vile, J Mascis, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Jenny Lewis, TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe, Fucked Up, and My Morning Jacket’s Jim James.
