Warning! Boats of old rockers heading to Australian waters

Australia is facing yet another boat crisis with hundreds of retirees taking to the high seas to destroy their new hips as they ditch rocking chairs for rock ‘n’ roll in October next year.

The Rock the Boat cruise will set sail from Sydney for nine days of cruising with Cold Chisel’s Jimmy Barnes and Ian Moss, Ross Wilson, Joe Camilleri, Glenn Shorrock, Frankie J Holden, Wilbur Wilde, Mental As Anything and one of “Australia’s most experienced Elvis Tribute performers”, Paul Fenech. This will apparently be “the biggest line up of Australian rock legends ever assembled on water” although we’re not exactly sure when the previous record for Most Australian Rock Legends on Water was set or who was involved.

If you want to join the (geri)action you should really splurge out and book a space in an Owners Suite with “separate living areas, private balconies and a minibar” for $9,697. If that’s a little out of your budget you’ll still need to save up at least $2,482 for a ticket to join these rockers performing aboard the luxurious ‘Rhapsody of the Seas’.

The tickets include all meals, activities and the entertainment from the bands who will perform in the ship’s Majestic Broadway Melodies Theatre, the Shall We Dance Lounge, the Centrum, the Viking Crown Lounge and the Schooner Bar & Pool. The cruise will also include dance lessons so you can learn how your grandparents used to move

The cruise departs from Sydney on the 19th October visiting Noumea, Lifou, Mystery Island and the Isle of Pines. Sadly, there’s no mention of the ship venturing out into lawless international waters where anything goes.

If you simply can’t wait until next year you can swing to the sounds of Chubby Checker and a stack of Aussie rockers from the 60s including Normie Rowe, Marcie Jones and Digger Revell on the from 14th – 23rd October this year. Or if you you’ve always wondered what the Deni Muster would look like if it was dragged out to sea jump aboard the Crusin’ Country voyage in November with Casey Chambers, Shane Nicholson, Troy Cassar Daley and The McClymonds.
