Congratulations to local singer/songwriter Georgi Kay who took out the WAM Song of the Year award for her song Breakfast in Bedlam. Kay also won the award for the school age (15-17) category. She’ll go home with $5000 in cash, a publishing deal with Pitch Perfect, plus recording, mastering and a run of 500 cds.

Kay is the first school aged entrant to ever win the Song of the Year grand prize.

The winner of the publicly voted Most Popular Song category was Take Me Home by Them Little Secrets and Fred Rea. Awards were presented to a packed house of nominees, fans and industry representatives at the Fly By Night on Wednesday. Live musical entertainment was provided by Minute 36, Umpire, Stoop Fresh and Polly Medlen
