Vivid LIVE reveals 2014 music program

The music program for Vivid LIVE 2014 will include performances from The Pet Shop Boys, Pixies and Daft Punk collaborator Giorgio Moroder.

Now entering its fifth year Sydney’s “annual event of light, music and ideas” is set to take place from Friday May 23 – June 9. The music portion of the festival will see the Pixies return to Australia for the first time since 2010 to perform four intimate shows at the Sydney Opera House. UK electro pop legends Pet Shop Boys will also return to headline the “Modulations” series – a collaboration between Carriageworks and Modular which will feature three days of exclusive music performances, art, installations and contemporary ideas. Fred Deakin (one half of Lemon Jelly) will perform as part of Modulations, with more bands and DJs set to be announced soon.

Other music highlights include Grammy Award-winning dance-floor legend and Daft Punk collaborator Giorgio Moroder performing a DJ set and participating in an intimate Q&A session on June 1; and The Presets performing their previously announced Australian Chamber Orchestra collaboration “Timeline” at the Sydney Opera House on May 29.
