Violent Soho are so damn real they take the bus to soundcheck

Ever wondered what Violent Soho get up to when they’re on tour?

Yes, they drink a lot of Grey Goose vodka and get backstage massages. But they also take the bus to soundcheck, shotgun cans of XXXX Gold and pull off some sick ollies like the true blue Aussie legends that they are.

The band have shared two behind-the-scenes videos on Instagram from the opening dates of their tour with The Bronx, Luca Brasi and Tired Lion.

The first is from Brisbane, where they performed to a packed out 9500-capacity Riverstage on Friday night (check out all the photos here). It shows them back in their home hood of Mansfield, waiting for a bus to take them to soundcheck. “Hey Translink Southeast Queensland,” guitarist James Tidswell says in the clip, reading out a tweet. “If the 180 is any later we’re gonna miss soundcheck.”

In the Sydney video – posted after their show at the Hordern on Saturday night – drummer Michael Richards pretends to neck a bottle of Grey Goose, while Tidswell takes the piss out of his musical chops. “Forty percent of the people in this crowd play guitar better than me,” he says.

Sydney was the best of times. Now for a day off before Melbourne tomorrow!
