An unreleased Red Hot Chili Peppers track featuring Dave Navarro has leaked online
An unreleased Red Hot Chili Peppers track called ‘Circle of the Noose’ that was recorded in 1998 while Dave Navarro was still a member of the band has leaked online.
The recording, which Navarro has confirmed is legit, was the only track that Navarro played on during the sessions for the followup to the band’s 1995 album One Hot Minute, before he left the band due to his problems with drug addiction and to focus on a new band project Spread.
As Alternative Nation notes, Navarro was especially proud of the track, which features a loop of Pakistani singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. “[It’s] the greatest pop song I’ve ever been a part of,” he told an interviewer in 1997. “It’s pop in the sense of verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, hook … It’s really nice. The best way I can describe it is it’s like pepped- up ’60s folk with ’90s ideals, but I would hate to label it as folk because it’s not, it moves.”

@RHCPtv5 WOW what a trip down memory lane! Thanks :)
