Here are the top 10 albums of the year – according to triple j listeners

The end of year lists are raining down, and this time around it’s triple j’s turn, with the station revealing their top 10 albums of 2016 as voted by listeners.

Mansfield boys Violent Soho land at #1 with WACO, beating out some stiff competition from Flume and The Avalanches, who land at #2 and #3 respectively. King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard and the DMA’s make their debut in the list this year, while Ball Park Music are back in the list for the fourth time – making it four from four.

The list is overwhelmingly local, with Radiohead and Frank Ocean the only international acts featured. There’s also a notable absence of women, despite a strong year of releases from the likes of Montaigne, Camp Cope, and Julia Jacklin.

Triple j music director Richard Kingsmill dropped the results on his show 2016 last night, and also named his own personal top 10 of the year.

Check out both lists below.
