Tim Rogers and The Bamboos reunite for new album and national tour

You Am I frontman Tim Rogers and The Bamboos teamed up in 2012 for the smouldering single ‘I Got Burned’ and have now reunited a full album of soulful goodness and national tour.

The Rules of Attraction album is said to be a very collaborative affair with the band referring to the record as a “full length The Bamboos feat. Tim Rogers feat. The Bamboos feat. Tim Rogers album.” The album will be released on May 22 and features the lead single ‘Easy’. “I wanted to make a Bamboos song that sounded a bit like The Police,” Bamboos leader Lance Ferguson says of the single. “Of course it sounds nothing like that it the end. In fact this song sat around for a bit because it was waiting for the right fit, the missing jigsaw piece. It took Tim to crack the code.”

The band’s previous collaboration with Rogers, ‘I Got Burned’, was the lead single from The Bamboos’ Medicine Man album and their biggest hit to date, reaching #54 on the Hottest 100. The band also took Rogers on the road in early 2013 on their Rock ‘n Soul Medicine Show tour which featured a setlist including a few You Am I classics reworked in Bamboos style. Rogers also took the lead on covers of The Meters’ ‘Just Kissed My Baby’, Dr. John’s ‘Right Place, Wrong Time’ and The Rolling Stones’ ‘Can’t You Hear Me Knocking’.
