The Rolling Stones announce Australian tour supports
British India have just returned from Berlin where they were busy recording album number five, and will open proceedings at both shows. They will be followed by Sydney’s The Preatures who are set to release their long-awaited debut Blue Planet Eyes this September. The band recently finished up a sold-out European tour and have just returned from the US where they played Coachella, a special set for Jimmy Kimmel Live and made their mark as one of the buzziest Australian acts at SxSW.
The Rolling Stones are set to kick off their Australian tour on October 25 with a headline show at Adelaide Oval with special guest Jimmy Barnes. The Stones had been due on our shores in March but were forced to postpone all dates following the tragic death of Mick Jagger’s partner L’Wren Scott. The October/November “14 On Fire Tour” will be their first in Australia since the “A Bigger Bang” tour in 2006 which only travelled to Sydney and Melbourne. In 2003 their “Licks” tour also featured Brisbane on the itinerary, but they haven’t been to Adelaide (or Perth) since they were touring Voodoo Lounge way back in 1995.
A final release of general admission tickets at Hope Estate will be available for purchase from 10am local time next Monday, September. 1
