The rest of the Soundwave 2016 lineup will finally arrive next week

There are just 50 days until the 2016 Soundwave tour is scheduled to begin, so fans have been understandably eager the festival to finish unveiling the lineup. But after many delays it now appears that the rest of the acts will be announced early next week.

According to tweets from promoter AJ Maddah he’s waiting on a key act that will “make [2016] a very big Soundwave” to sign the paperwork over the weekend. “We have already given them ‘til next week’ about 18 times” he says but the band has now been set a final deadline. There will be about seven bands on the lineup announcement if depending on what happens this weekend.

A Facebook post from Westfest – the New Zealand festival that shares many acts with Soundwave – reveals that they will be announcing their full lineup next Tuesday, which makes it likely that the remainder of the 2016 Soundwave bill will be announced on Monday or early Tuesday morning. “Apologies for the delays,” Westfest tols fans. “Due to issues with Soundwave we are still waiting on info from two acts if they can play.”

The lineup for Soundwave 2016 currently features 24 acts including Disturbed, Bring Me The Horizon, The Prodigy, Deftones, NOFX, Bullet For My Valentine, Public Enemy, and Refused plus the recently added bands Killswitch Engage and Ill Nino who will be playing their Alive Or Just Breathing and Revolution albums in full.
