Falls Festival founder Simon Daly will launch a new festival called Lost Lands for “the very young, the old and the in-between” over the Melbourne Cup long weekend.

The three-day festival will be held at Werribee Mansion – the former home of the Harvest festival – and boasts sets from Mariachi El Bronx and Ozomatli plus a cast of local favourties including The Waifs, Missy Higgins, C.W. Stoneking, Architecture in Helsinki, The Grates, and The Bamboos with Tim Rogers.

Daly says there’s a need for a stronger family-oriented events in Australia and he wanted to help provide it. “The Lost Lands will give parents the chance to reconnect with the festival experience, while instilling in kids a love and appreciation of music, arts and adventure,” Daly told the Herald Sun. “I think there’s an appetite for more experiences crafted with parents and kids in mind and it’s exciting for the industry.”

In addition to the musical acts, the festival will aslo feature art, theatre and comedy from dancing classes for toddlers to late night laughs for grown up kids. Camping, glamping and hotel options will also be avaliable for punters (and their kids) who want to stay on site.

Tickets are on sale now via the festival’s website and available in a variety of packages ranging from the full three-day experience to single day passes.
