The Perth psych-rockers won everything they were nominated for, collecting awards for Group Of The Year, Single Of The Year (for ‘Feels Like We Only Go Backwards’), Music Video Of The Year (for ‘Elephant’), and Album Of The Year (for Lonerism of course, beating releases by Birds Of Tokyo, Karnivool, San Cisco, The Love Junkies, and their own side project POND).

Other winners on the night were the St Jerome’s Laneway Festival, who won Music Event Of The Year, Abbe May, who won Solo Act Of The Year, Karnivool, who won Heavy Act Of The Year, and Gina Williams, who won Indigenous Act Of The Year.

The award ceremony took place at Perth’s Astor Theatre (who won Music Venue Of The Year) and featured live performances by Jordi Davieson from San Cisco, Mama Kin, Mathas, and DJ Anton Maz playing a set of all West Australian music. It was hosted by triple j’s Dom Alessio and Lewi McKirdy.
