Tame Impala added to Meredith
Tickets to this year’s Meredith Music Festival may’ve sold out – in record time mind you – but that hasn’t stopped organiser Aunty Meredith from consolidating an already stellar bill.
The biggest of those additions is undoubtedly Tame Impala, who will perform at the Supernatural Amphitheatre in Victoria for the first time since their rain-soaked Meredith debut in 2008. The band just wound up a run of dates for Parklife, and as previously reported are expected to embark on a national tour in December.
Other additions to the Meredith bill include ‘90s techno duo Itch-E And Scratch-E, Geelong garage rock act The Murlocs, “future soul” outfit Hiatus Kaiyote and Boomgates, a Melbourne supergroup featuring members of Twerps, Eddy Current and Dick Diver. Described by FL as “serious fun”, they featured in our “”FL Recommends””:http://www.fasterlouder.com.au/news/local/33619/FL-Recommends-September playlist for September.
Tickets purchased in the ballot or online will be posted out in early November. Meanwhile, the ballot for sister festival Golden Plains is now open online. Cat Power is the first of many acts confirmed.
Meredith takes place from December 7-9.
