Soundwave confirm line-up and Iron Maiden sideshows

Festival promoter AJ Maddah has confirmed via twitter that the Soundwave Festival line-up that was widely reported today, is indeed the first official announcement for the 2011 event.

Expressing his disappointment that the line-up was revealed 24 hours earlier than originally planned, Maddah confirmed that there would be eight more bands announced in October one of which “is the [festival’s] third headliner.”

Festival headliner Iron Maiden also announced on their website that as well as heading up Soundwave 2011 they will be playing two super-sized sideshows on 23rd February at Hisense Arena in Melbourne and 24th February at the Entertainment Centre in Sydney.
