Red Hot Chili Peppers confirm 2013 Australian tour
There have been many rumours about when the Red Hot Chili Peppers will return to Australia and now we finally have word from the band that they’re coming “to Australia early next year”.
The band’s Australian born bassist Flea made the announcement during a Twitter Q&A session earlier today confirming the news to a doubly patriotic fan by the name of OzzieJimPerth.
@OzzieJimPerth yes, we are coming to australia early next year, can’t wait to feel the connection to my birthplace once again

The news of a tour in early 2013 certainly puts the band at the forefront of the rumours for Big Day Out, especially as they’re set to headline BDO partner festival Lollapalooza in August.
When BDO co-founder Ken West announced his new partnership with C3 Presents, the promoters of Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits Music Festival, earlier this year he declared that “this new global relationship and its combined wealth of knowledge and experience can bring for Australian audiences and Australian and international artists.”
The Chili Willies headlined the Big Day Out, with Blink 182 and Foo Fighters, back in 2000 and were last seen on our shores for a headline tour in early 2007.
