Piers Faccini coming to Australia in April

Working with producer JP Plunier must be a lucky charm. The man who delivered us first Ben Harper, and then Jack Johnson has quite a track record. Nevertheless Piers Faccini, who has worked with Plunier, looks set for stardom, and he’ll have his own talent to thank. The English-born, French-raised performer is heading our way in April, bringing with him a swag of critical acclaim.

Faccini released his first solo album in 2004 to huge critical acclaim in France and much of Europe. His second, Tearing Sky, has done even better. His voice has been described as shaman like and his music hypnotic. Faccini wrote and sung all the songs, played all the guitars and layered extra touches of colour with a Chinese ‘er hu’ violin, a harmonium or a harmonica. Behind him was a talented team of musicians; among them none other than Ben Harper who lends backing vocals. The two will be reacquainted down under for a number of special shows.

The dates:

April 1: West Coast Blues and Roots Festival, Fremantle
April 4: Enmore Theatre, Sydney (supporting Ben Harper)
April 7: Point Nepean Festival, Mornington Peninsula, Victoria
April 9: East Coast Blues and Roots Festival, Byron Bay
