One Great Night On Earth update: One ‘turntable’ stage, all-star band and $100 tickets
Back in April FL exclusively reported on a brand new Australian festival, One Great Night On Earth. Speaking with the event’s Project Director Lyndel Moore we discovered that OGNOE is set to take place this December at the foot of the You-Yangs in Victoria, and with the help of Woodstock’s Chip Monck will feature 12 hours of music brought to you by “classic rock legends” (and possibly a hologram).
Since then we have heard very little from the One Great Night Folks, however across the last 24 hours the festival has started to reveal more details about the event, leading to speculation the official lineup is imminent.
Here are some facts that have been announced on the official Facebook page this week:
“Unlike many Gen Y based festivals, our audience won’t be on the move all day seeking out multiple stages for individual performances. With Chip designing a high tech version of the ‘69 Woodstock stage, all of our acts will be back to back on one incredible turntable stage. You’ll be able to graze all day long and not miss a single thing.”
“We’ll be showcasing 12 hours of some of the coolest Classic Rockers from a bygone era all of whom have honed their craft as LIVE performers. The entire performance from opening gates to the an ALL STAR performance leading into midnight will be filmed by an international crew for posterity.”
“A ticket to One Great Night on Earth will only cost you around $AUD100 and 100% of that cost is going to go straight back to those affected by natural disaster. You get to ROCK OUT knowing the entire time that you’ll be assisting those in need. It doesn’t get much better than that!!!!! ROCK ON AND BRING RELIEF!!!!!”
“One Great Night on Earth has a ten year plan to raise annual and ongoing fund for those affected by natural disaster. Post our inaugural event, this festival plans to branch out in the UK and US to raise additional funds in those territories for those affected by natural disaster. We are planning on changing the way the world sees fundraising via a donation for reward process. Our slogan is of course, ROCK ON AND BRING RELIEF.”
