Muse sell out, add extra show
Tickets for the first Muse show in Melbourne sold out in a matter of minutes earlier this afternoon, so the band has now added a second show to meet demand.
Tickets for the additional date Saturday, December 7 will go on sale at 1pm today (Monday 29 July).
In addition to the pair of Melbourne shows Muse are also scheduled to play
gigs epic arena spectaculars in at Perth Arena on November 30, Adelaide’s Entertainment Centre on December 4, Brisbane’s Entertainment Centre on December 10 and Sydney’s Allphone Arena on December 13.
Speaking with FL earlier this month, bassist Chris Wolstenholme said that for this tour the band will be bringing the same set-up used for last year’s European and US dates. According to the Hollywood Reporter this included a continually transforming video pyramid and extensive lights show. As for the setlist, Wolstenholme said to expect a career-spanning show including songs from the band’s 2012 album The Second Law. “I think on the arena tour we play for about an hour and 50,” he told FL. “So you’re pretty much playing most of your best songs.”
When the trio was last on our shores in 2010 they brought with them a huge stage show, that saw the band playing atop giant towers erected in the middle of arenas surrounded by “”enough End Of The World art direction to make it seem like Pink Floyd never happened””:http://www.fasterlouder.com.au/reviews/events/26686/Muse-Acer-Arena-Sydney-91210.
This will be the first time that Muse have toured Australia since releasing sixth studio album The 2nd Law, but Wolstenholme revealed they’re already thinking about their next recording. “Australia could potentially be the end of the touring for this album,” he said, “You get to that point and you start thinking about what’s next. What are we going to do for the next album?”
Support for the tour will come from Birds Of Tokyo who released their new album March Fires earlier this year.
