More Sidewaves – Anthrax, Periphery, Crossfaith, Fozzy, This Is Hell

Anthrax have announced a third Sidewave show giving fans in Melbourne a chance to see both a festival and headline set from the thrash legends.

The members of the Big Four had already announced a show in Brisbane and been added to the lineup of the Slayer Sidewave gig in Sydney and now they’ll also play a Melbourne date with hardcore crew This Is Hell and Fozzy – the metal act fronted by professional wrestler Chris Jericho. The Sydney show will also include a set from Kingdom of Sorrow, the sludge metal band which features Kirk Windstein of Crowbar and Down, and Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed. At this stage Anthrax look set to play their Brisbane headline show without a support act.

The Anthrax shows will feature Shadows Fall guitarist Jon Donais who has stepped up to temporarily replace Rob Caggiano who left the band at the beginning of the month after over a decade with the band.

Sidewave shows have also been announced for Periphery and Crossfaith who will offer up a mix of djent and Japanese scremo at festival sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne. Periphery are expected to release their third album Juggernaut later this year, following up on their 2010 self titled debut and last year’s Periphery II: This Time It’s Personal; Crossfaith have released two records The Artificial Theory For The Dramatic Beauty and The Dream, The Space.
