Melbourne Music Week 2014 first lineup

Melbourne Music Week has announced its first round of artists for 2014.

Returning for its fifth year MMW is delivering its biggest program of daytime and night time events yet – crossing music, art, film and design. Featuring 250 local and international artists, 110 events and 40 locations, 2014 will also see the Queen Victoria Market utilised as a venue for the first year ever.

The first weekend of events at the Queen Vic will kick off with the official opening night on Friday, November 14 with sets from Architecture in Helsinki, Total Giovanni and Rainbow Connection DJs. The following day Cut Copy will present a lineup of fresh electro talent including, Andras & Oscar, Roland Tings, No Zu and World’s End Press. And on the Sunday AllDay will headline a hip-hop heavy lineup featuring L-Fresh the Lion and up-and-coming Melbourne MC Baro.

Other performers confirmed for Melbourne Music Week 2014 include legendary German electronic music pioneers Tangerine Dream and The Church, who will be performing a live score to Jean Cocteau’s avant-garde film Blood of a Poet. See the first lineup below.
