Local act Fish Fingazz score itunes single of the week

Punk & Metal’s Dead, the debut single from Sydney band FiSH FiNGAZZ, has been chosen as iTunes single of the week for Feb 20

The song was recorded by Clay Segelov at The Brain Studios, Surry Hills, and mixed by Phil McKellar (silverchair, Grinspoon, Spiderbait).

According to the  band’s press release Punk & Metal’s Dead takes a critical look at the bullshit, myths and distractions of the music industry. The song kicks in with a down and dirty bass riff which is quickly joined by layers of cranking guitar and precise, hard-driving drums, enfolding the listener in a rock blanket from the first note. A high level of energy prevails, with several climaxes achieved through building rhythm grooves and Troy Mingramm’s searing Johnny Rotten style vocals flying in from all angles of the mix.

FiSH FiNGAZZ hit the scene late in 2006, but have already built up a healthy live following, playing shows in Sydney and Melbourne, as well as an appearance at the Beats On The Beach festival in Ballina on New Year’s Day, where they shared the bill with Karnivool, Bodyjar, End Of Fashion, Wolf & Cub, Freq Nasty and Saul Williams to name a few.
