Listen to King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s paranoid new song ‘People-Vultures’
Melbourne septet King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard have released the new track ‘People-Vultures’, as another preview of their upcoming eighth album Nonagon Infinity.
The paranoid five-minute jam features Stu Mackenzie singing about people vultures, parasites and “[the] feathered doom [that] encircles us from above” with all the unhinged lunacy of a street corner prophet. ‘People-Vultures’ follows directly on from the recently released lead single ‘Gamma Knife’. All nine tracks on the new record run into one another with the album sequenced to be played on an infinite loop that will have you crawling on the ceiling and scratching at the bugs under your skin.
The band began work on the album back in 2014, around the release of the bands acclaimed LP I’m In Your Mind Fuzz, and completed the record during sessions at Daptone Studios in Brooklyn last year. Pre-orders for the album indicate that King Gizz are well on their way to scoring their first top 10 ARIA charting album when the record is released through Flightless and Remote Control on Friday, April 29 .
