Listen to Husky’s stripped back cover of Tame Impala’s ‘Let It Happen’

‘Let It Happen’ was a standout moment from Tame Impala’s impressive homecoming performance at Splendour in the Grass on the weekend. The first single from Currents, ‘Let It Happen’ is a sprawling eight-minute psych jam with an infectious dance-y pulse that transforms into something else altogether when performed live.

While there are bound to be dozens of different versions of the song floating around YouTube by year’s end, Melbourne band Husky have just released a particularly memorable cover. Stripping the track down to its bare bones, Husky reimagine the Currents cut as a slow-burning acoustic number that brings Kevin Parker’s lyrics front and centre. The cover was premiered on Stereogum to mark the US release Husky’s Ruckers Hill album. Listen below.
