Listen: Courtney Barnett has teamed up with Jack White to cover a Rowland S. Howard classic

Courtney Barnett has recorded two songs with Jack White at his Third Man Studio in Nashville for the next installment of his Blue Series of singles.

The limited edition 7″ vinyl will be released on Friday, October 16 and features ‘Boxing Day Blues Revisited’ – a bittersweet epilogue to ‘Boxing Day Blues’, the closing track from Barnett’s album Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit – and a cover of the Rowland S. Howard classic ‘Shivers’. Recorded over a long weekend at the studio in Nashville, Barnett’s single is the latest in Jack White’s Blue Series of productions that have included single releases by Beck, Tom Jones, First Aid Kid, Laura Marling, John C Reily, Steven Colbert, Insane Clown Posse and fellow Australian Lanie Lane. Barnett is set to appear on the lineup of the Falls ans Southbound festivals before playing a run of headline dates in Perth, Sydney, and Melbourne supported by Cloud Control in January. Check out the tour dates here.
