Killswitch Engage reunite with original vocalist

Killswitch Engage fans will no doubt be looking forward to seeing Jesse Leach and Adam Dutkiewicz touring with the Soundwave festival later this month as Times of Grace, but there some even bigger news for long time Killswitch fans.

The Killswitch crew began the year by parting ways with vocalist Howard Jones and releasing a statement saying while the specific details of Jones’s departure would not be discussed they were on the hunt for a replacement: “He has left big shoes to fill so we certainly have our work cut out for us to find the next singer of Killswitch, something we plan making priority number one going forward.”

Now a photo posted on the official Killswitch Engage site has revealed that Leach, the band’s original vocalist, has reunited to the band nearly a decade after he quit via email.

Leach fronted Killswitch for their self-titled debut in 2000 and follow-up Alive or Just Breathing in 2002, but life on the road soon soured for the singer. Bassist Mike D’Antonio told Blabbermouth in 2002 that “Basically his life on tour consisted of staying in the van the whole time… towards the end of the tour he was bugging out because he couldn’t deal with being in the van,” he explained. “We received an email stating that he had quit the band and that was pretty much it. After three years of hanging out with the dude, and considering him a brother, to just get an email was a little bit harsh”
