Kanye’s ‘Yeezus’ pop-up shop is open for business

There’s a long queue outside a non-descript all-white shopfront in Melbourne – and it’s all Kanye West’s fault. That’s right, the Yeezus pop-up shop has opened for business.

Situated at 336 Chapel Street – next to another pop-up clothing store and near a noodle joint and TAB – it features a special-edition tour splatter tee that’s exclusive to his current Australian tour. When FL visited the shop, a Kanye super fan had turned his beat-up old car into an impromptu installation. “Yeezy” was scrawled in day-glo Posca paint across the body, while ‘Jesus Walks’ blared through the stereo as a little dog in the front seat looked on bemused.

Kanye’s creative director Virgil Abloh – who was spotted at the entrance – posted the Yeezus splatter design on his Instagram last night.

Since arriving in Australia, Kanye has been spotted shooting hoops in Perth and shopping at the Royal Arcade in Melbourne. He begins his run of two Melbourne shows tonight at Rod Laver Arena, before heading to Sydney and Brisbane later in the week. Click here for remaining tour dates.
