International act drops off Laneway lineup, replacement announced
Laneway Festival 2015 is just weeks away but unfortunately one of the festival international acts, Lykke Li, has been forced to drop out of the tour due to “health reasons”.
“I’m incredibly sorry to announce that I’m no longer able to play in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore for Laneway Festival,” the Swedish singer says in a statement. “It’s been a long time coming, but unfortunately tour life has caught up with me and it’s been recommended that I take a break. I’m devastated, but know I will return. Thank you for all the support, and I sincerely hope I can make it up to you at a later date.” Ticket to Lykke’s sideshows at the Sydney Opera House and Melbourne Forum will be fully refunded.
It’s not all bad news though with rising star Tkay Maidza stepping up to replace Lykke Li at all five Australian Laneway dates. The festival lineup also includes Mac DeMarco, Little Dragon, St Vincent, Future Islands, Banks and FKA Twigs alongside Royal Blood, Angel Olsen, Connan Mockasin, Flying Lotus, Eagulls and Caribou plus local acts including Andy Bull, Courtney Barnett, Dune Rats and Pond.
