Iggy Pop set to tell-all with Stooges book released through Jack White’s record label
The story of one of the most influential bands in history is set to be told by one of the most charismatic characters in rock, with Iggy Pop telling the story of his band The Stooges in the aptly titled book Total Chaos.
The book will be written by Jeff Gold and Johan Kugelberg, who sat down with Iggy Pop (nee Stooge) as he relived the glory days, and not so glorious days, of the band who gave us The Stooges, Fun House, and Raw Power. The book will also touch on the band’s later reunions.
The publishing arm of Stooges super–fan Jack White’s record label Third Man will release the book, which will contain contributions from White, Joan Jett, Johnny Marr and more, along with anecdotes from Iggy himself.
Iggy Pop has hit a recent purple patch of output, with recently released album Post Pop Depression (recorded with the help of Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme) receiving a glowing critical response. We described the album as ““Iggy riding into the sunset with two middle fingers hoisted proudly in the air, raving like a lunatic”. Read our full review here.
Total Chaos is slated to be released later this year, most likely in time for Chrissy.
