Here’s the full 2016 Lollapalooza lineup, featuring Radiohead, RHCP, Flume and more

Celebrating its 25th birthday in fine style, US festival giant Lollapalooza has unveiled its full 2016 lineup. Headlining this year’s festival will be Radiohead and Red Hot Chili Peppers (who both are likely to be performing brand new Nigel Godrich–produced material), along with LCD Soundsystem on their lucrative reunion victory lap.

J Cole, Lana Del Rey and Disclosure and Jane’s Addiction also feature in the business end of the bill, while Third Eye Blind are also set to make an appearance nearly 20 years on from the release of their karaoke jam ‘Semi-Charmed Life’.

A strong Australian contingent will be making the trip over to Chi-Town, including Flume (53 places above Third Eye Blind on the lineup), “Haitus Kaiyote” (landing the coveted ‘misspelled band name on the poster’ slot for this year, 26 places below Third Eye Blind on the lineup), RÜFÜS DU SOL (31 places below Third Eye Blind on the lineup), Hayden James (56 places below Third Eye Blind on the lineup), Jarryd James (71 places below Third Eye Blind on the lineup), and Generik (84 places below Third Eye Blind on the lineup).

Lollapalooza 2016 takes place July 28–31 in Chicago. Tickets and details here. Now you might think “wow I’m totes going over to Chicago this year!”, you know that your bank account will disagree. For when that moment settles in, here’s some rampant Splendour speculation to comfort your downtrodden soul.

Lollapalooza is one of the big US festivals with a track record of same–year Splendour crossover (with 2015 seeing the likes of Florence and the Machine and Tame Impala make appearances at both), with the Chicago throwdown taking place a week after our biggest winter festival. While we can rule out LCD Soundsystem, there’s still some hope at the top end of the Lollapalooza bill.

Disclosure will be performing in South Korea at the same time as Splendour’s first night, but that’s close enough proximity to Australia to leave the prospect of a second or third night appearance possible. Crossover stars Lana Del Rey and Ellie Goulding are likely contenders, plus the hope of a Radiohead–line appearance remains well and truly open. Jane’s Addiction could well make their Splendour return. And if you want something else from the semi–charmed kinda bill, Third Eye Blind are also free for Splendour.
