Harvest announces ticket exchange for Melbourne: “Attend either Sat or Sun. Your choice”

We get to party in yesterday’s filth.

This is how one Facebook user has reacted to yesterday’s announcement of a second date for Harvest Melbourne, which will now take place at Werribee Park on Saturday, November 10, a day prior to the now sold-out Sunday event.

Several disgruntled ticket-holders, including Foundation Members, took to Facebook and Twitter last night to voice their frustration at having to attend the arguably less appealing Sunday festival when they could’ve held out for a Saturday ticket.

“Foundation members have to deal with a sell out crowd on a Sunday while people who were ‘waiting for the highly anticipated second announcement’ get the luxury of enjoying the lighter crowd,” wrote one user. Another said some interstate festival-goers had even taken the day off work to attend the Sunday show.

While there hasn’t been an official announcement from Harvest yet, promoter AJ Maddah announced on Twitter last night that Foundation members who bought Sunday tickets for Harvest Melbourne would be able to attend either event.

This “ticket exchange” appears to only be available to Foundation Members, who will soon be issued with a “credit card type card”, which they’ll be able to use to attend the event of their choice. An update on when the cards will be posted will be provided “asap”, according to Harvest’s Facebook page.

Acts confirmed in yesterday’s second round include Silversun Pickups and Dexys Midnight Runners. The additional Melbourne show is the only extra Harvest date to be announced, with Maddah also confirming there won’t be any Harvest sideshows in Brisbane.

FasterLouder has contacted the festival for further details about how the ticket exchange/swap for Foundation Members will operate, and will keep you posted as new information is released.
