Grinspoon are reuniting to support Cold Chisel

Two years after announcing they were going on an “indefinite break” Grinspoon are reuniting to support Cold Chisel on their forthcoming tour.

In a statement released today frontman Phil Jamieson said the Grinners were looking forward to getting back on stage. “To say we are excited to be supporting Cold Chisel is an understatement,” he said. “I honestly didn’t think Grinspoon would be playing together again, so to get this opportunity by such a legendary act is humbling and completely out of the box insanely totally crazy fun. Now, what the hell am I going to wear?”

After 18 years, seven albums, 13 ARIA nominations and well over 1,000 shows a Grinspoon announced their hiatus in December 2013, telling fans that the band were taking a break “to recharge their batteries”. Speaking to FL upon the release of the band’s last record Black Rabbits Jamieson admitted that playing live is where the band were most comfortable. “At the end of it we are a band who just really love playing live,” he revealed. “It’s the same four idiots who started this stupid band and it is really comforting to know they are still with me…I truly believe that [on stage is] where we are at out best.”
