Golden Plains actually fulfilled Parquet Courts’ mental backstage rider

As we’ve reported before, Parquet Courts have a really specific and pretty hilarious way of laying out their backstage rider. Basically it’s a take on the typical stage plot, substituting instruments and AV equipment for “a spread of snacks fit to satisfy fatigued professional musicians”.

The band have toured the world since forming in New York in 2010 – playing some huge festival dates including Splendour, Laneway, Coachella and Glastonbury – but no one has fulfilled their rider to the letter until now. When they arrived in their dressing room for Victoria’s Golden Plains festival over the weekend, the band were “delighted” to find everything laid out just as their hospitality plot had specified. According to their Australian bookers Mistletone – who provided FL with the pics below – it’s “evidence of the lengths the wonderful Golden Plains backstage crew went to in order to fulfill the band’s requests”.
