Future Music Festival 2014 lineup date revealed

Lock it in! Future Music Festival will reveal its “blockbuster” 2014 lineup next week on Tuesday, September 17 at 4pm.

The Future lineup usually appears in mid-October, but of course there are already a few rumours floating around including Deadmau5 (who has conspicuously absent from Australia since 2011) and dubstep-turned-disco don Skream. Techno artist Dubfire has already revealed that he’ll be in the country come March 2014 – and if that’s true, a spot on the Future bill looks likely.

Last month the festival announced a “strategic alliance” with Michael Gudinski’s Mushroom Group. According to a press release, the relationship with the Mushroom Group means that fans can expect a “bigger and brighter future for FMF” and a renewed focus on “technology, state of the art production and … a highly interactive, well presented and truly enhanced festival experience”. “Future Music Festival was an early pioneer of the EDM genre,” says Gudinski. “I believe our combined forces can take the festival to new heights with an even greater focus on the fan experience and the addition of some exciting new innovations.”

The 2013 Future bill featured The Stone Roses, The Prodigy, Dizzee Rascal, Bloc Party, Azealia Banks, The Temper Trap and Fun.
