fun. announce Future sideshows

New York’s fun. have announced they will play two sideshows in Melbourne and Sydney next year in addition to their tour with the Future Music Festival.

The trio are set to play at the Palace Theatre in Melbourne on March 5, followed by the Enmore Theatre in Sydney on March 7. The tour will mark the band’s second trip to Australia within a year, after they last played at the Splendour in the Grass festival in July. FL was there at the Big Top, where they set the stage alight with their “bombastic vibe”. They’ve been on a non-stop tour in the US and Europe since, and recently appeared on Saturday Night Live.

fun.’s second album, Some Nights, was recently nominated for six Grammy awards, including Best Song for their hit single, ‘We are Young’. The song hit top of the ARIA single charts in Australia for three weeks, also going number one on the US and UK charts, respectively. ‘Some Nights’ has achieved platinum status in Australia.

The upcoming Future Musical Festival is set to take place in early March next year, where fun. will be performing along with headline acts The Stone Roses and The Prodigy, as well as Bloc Party, who also appeared at this year’s Splendour in the Grass.
