FL April Playlist with The Fabergettes, Pop Singles, Courtney Barnett and Howlin’ Steam Train

It’s been a long time between drinks for the FasterLouder Playlist, but we are back this month with a super group of local bands we think you should be paying more attention to. Introducing The Fabergettes, Courtney Barnett, Pop Singles and Howlin’ Steam Train.

The Fabergettes

The Fabergettes make sassy punk. It’s soul for those that have a soft-spot for the Cramps and live it is more than a little bit of fun. Landing with a splish-splash on the Sydney scene about twelve months ago, there is a fair chance that if you reside in the Harbour City you will have caught Natty, Bec, Cipi Kat and Marty flashing their 60s inspired guitar pop around town. If you haven’t yet wrapped your ears around their tunes or had a chance to twist along at one of the shows then get clicking.

The Fabergettes sound like the Shangri-Las and Lesley Gore distilled with a sloppy dose of surf-guitar and the result is super fun and super catchy. Having released their debut, self-titled EP last month there is no doubt these ladies (and fella) will be taking things up a notch on this summer’s festival circuit.
