Fear Factory: “AJ Maddah deserves to go to jail”

Fear Factory frontman Burton C. Bell has torn into AJ Maddah declaring that the promoter should be jailed for ripping off bands on the Soundwave festival lineups.

The band are due to return to Australia in June promoting their ninth album Genexus. But Bell and his bandmates still haven’t been paid for their last visit back in early 2015 when they were pert of the Soundwave festival lineup alongside joined Faith No More, Soundgarden, Slipknot and The Smashing Pumpkins.

“The owner ripp[ed] everyone off. None of the bands ever got paid,” Bell has told Stick for Stones. “The best thing that could happen is that man goes to jail. He deserves to go to jail for ripping so many people off. Not just bands from ‘out of the country’ but local bands as well, he ripped off local contractors also … We needed that money to survive until the record came out and when that didn’t happen, my family suffered because of it. He should just hope that he never comes across me, ever.”

According to documents released when Soundwave Festival Pty Ltd went into administration, Fear Factory were still over $78,000 from the 2015 tour.
