Exclusive: Red Hot Chili Pepper’s ‘Brendan’s Death Song’ video premiere

FL is very excited to premiere the brand new clip for Brendan’s Death Song, the fifth single from Red Hot Chili Pepper’s latest album.

Taken from I’m With You, the song is about Brendan Mullen , founder of infamous LA punk rock club The Masque. A long time friend of the band Mullen is attributed with giving RHCP a start in the industry after hearing their demo tape in 1983.

Mullen was working with Anthony Kiedis’ father Blackie Dammett on the Red Hot Chili Pepper’s biography , Red Hot Chili Peppers: An Oral/Visual History when he died unexpectedly of a stroke in 2009. This sudden loss inspired the band to pen this ode to their friend which Keidis has described as “more of a celebration than a bummer.”

The video was directed by Marc Klasfeld and was shot in New Orleans.
