Earl Sweatshirt, King Krule, Warpaint, Jagwar Ma team up for epic collaboration

Earl Sweatshirt and King Krule have teamed up with Theresa Wayman and Stella Mozgawa from Warpaint and Jono Ma from Jagwar Ma for an epic 12 hour all-night recording session while on tour with the Laneway festival.

Promoters Astral People have revealed that the super collaboration took place earlier this week in the new studio of Sydney producer Jonti Danilewitz, who has also worked with Mark Ronson, Santigold, Big Scary, and Odd Future’s Hodgy Beats. Jonti performed under the name Danimals before a dispute with a yogurt company forced him to change his name to Djanimals. He released his debut album Twirligig in 2011 under the name Jonti via influential LA label Stones Throw (J Dilla, Dam-Funk, Peanut Butter Wolf).

19-year old wunderkinds Earl and King Krule have collaborated previously, although their earlier recording hasn’t been released. “Making music with that nigga was tight. That’s the only nigga other than Tyler where when I make music with him I don’t have to talk,” Earl told Clash Music last year. “We were very much on the same page. We were just sitting there faded, fucking doodling. That shit was tight … He put vocals on this one beat that I gave him, and then we made a beat together.”

Warpaint and Jagwar Ma have also collaborated previously. Warpaint drummer Stella Mozgawa appears on Jagwar Ma’s debut album Howlin’ and Jono Ma worked with Warpaint on the track ‘Biggie’ from their new self-titled record.
