Drumroll please… here are all your J Award winners for 2016

With a pretty bloody intimidating list of nominees announced at the start of the month, there were some big calls to be made with this year’s J Awards. In a ceremony this arvo in Melbourne, the winners were unveiled, with a debut LP rising to the top amongst some heavyweight follow-ups.

Castlemaine artist D.D Dumbo beat out a strong group of Album Of The Year contenders for his sprawling and intricate LP Utopia Defeated. Revisit our review of the album.

Tash Sultana picked up Unearthed Artist Of The Year, while King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard scored two out of the four gongs, being named Double J’s Australian Artist Of The Year as well as Australian Music Video of the year for ‘People-Vultures’ (called it!).
