“Dandys are coming here in May” says drummer

According to an interview with Dandy Warhols drummer Brent DeBoer published today on Mess + Noise, The Dandy Warhols are set to return to Australia in May.

Promoting his upcoming residency for his ‘other band’ Immigrant Union at the Tote, the Melbourne-based drummer explained that thanks to the miracles of modern technology he’s able to work on the new Dandys record in his downtime between gigs in Melbourne and send the recordings back to the band’s engineers and producers in Portland.

DeBoer says that the group is “maybe a little over halfway with our record. All of February is dedicated to recording… And then the Dandys are coming here in May. That’s being worked on. That’s not a guarantee, but I think they’ll be here at the end of May.”

Immigrant Union, featuring DeBoer, Bob Harrow of the Lazy Sons and Gamma Lubulwa from Galvatrons, join triple j unearthed sensations Stonefield for a Thursday night residency at the Tote in Melbourne this month with gigs on the 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th.
