Dandy Warhols, Silversun Pickups team up for Harvest sideshows

The Dandy Warhols and Silversun Pickups have joined the Harvest sideshow listings announcing headline shows in Perth and Adelaide.

The Dandy Warhols annual Australian tour follows recent visits in May last year, for Parklife in 2010; in 2008 for Fat As Butter; and the beginning of 2007 at Falls. (Ok, so they aren’t here every year.) The band’s eighth album This Machine was released in May and described by FL’s reviewer as “a strange concoction of cheek and gothic reserve.”

Silversun’s previous Australian visit in back in 2010 when the band was in the country to play the support slot on Birds of Tokyo’s tour and just one solitary headline gig. Guitarist and lead vocalist Brian Aubert told FL that band was very keen to arrange extra headline shows this time around. “Believe me, every time we come to Australia we come on the back of something else, and we’re always scheming,” Aubert revealed. “We were really happy Birds of Tokyo let us do the Melbourne show, that was really cool of them. We were really scheming to do more.”

For their tour in November, Silversun’s lineup will be slightly shuffled as with bass player Nikki Monninger’s pregnancy forcing her to miss the tour. She’ll be replaced by Sarah Negahdari from promising Los Angeles outfit The Happy Hollows for the Harvest dates and sideshows.

Other acts to have announced Harvest sideshows include Cake, Ben Folds Five, Sigur Ros, Grizzly Bear, Beruit, and The War On Drugs.
