Crowded House are returning to Sydney for the ARIA Awards

Beloved NZ/Australian band Crowded House are heading back to Sydney this November to be inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame.

Their career has spanned 30 years, and their achievements are almost too many to list: they have won over 13 ARIA Awards; have had five #1 albums and 17 top 50 singles; been certified platinum 30 times; performed to over 100,000 people at their ‘Farewell To The World’ show on the steps of the Sydney Opera House; and have created songs that will be forever etched into the Australian psyche.

Neil Finn and Nick Seymour have released the following statement following the news:

“Since our formation in Melbourne and our first album release in 1986 we have enjoyed a special relationship with Australia, one that has strengthened and endured over the years. We feel truly blessed that our songs have become a valued part of peoples lives across generations. As a result, our affinity with fans and the music community here is unique and one we hold very close. We are delighted and honoured to accept the invitation to be inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame.”

No word yet if they will perform, but stay tuned – and keep hoping.

The ARIA Awards turn 30 this year, and the celebrations are going down on Wednesday, November 23.
