Clare Bowditch tour

Clare Bowditch will be celebrating the end of winter by touring her new record The Winter I Chose Happiness promising a series of “hilarious, heart-felt, one-off events, full of new songs”.

Describing the inspirations on the album, Bowditch explains that “one day, this punk called Leonard [Cohen] invited me to tour with him. Off we flew in his little jet, city to city, right around Australia. And there I stood, dark in the wings, night after night, soaking up the work of a master. This was The World According to Leonard, and I kinda liked it. No one could accuse him of writing the happiest songs in the world, and yet in his songs there existed a truth, and in his presentation of this truth there was a grace and a joy and an element of entertainment that reminded me of happiness… Also, I started listening to Dixieland music again.”

The new record features the single Are You Ready Yet? (co-written by Gotye) and backing from The Royal Jelly Dixieland Band, who will be joining Bowditch on tour.
