Brooklyn’s St Lucia announce east-coast shows
Brooklyn’s St Lucia will return to Australia for a run of headline dates across the east-coast this April.
The band – led by South African-born singer/songwriter Jean-Philip Grobler – will play at Brisbane’s The Zoo on April 4, Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory on April 6 and Melbourne’s Corner Hotel on April 8. They last visited Australia in 2012 for the Parklife Festival.
St Lucia released their debut album When The Night in late-2013 through New York label Neon Gold (Passion Pit, Gotye, Marina and the Diamonds). Its first single ‘Elevate’ was a triple j favourite, coming in at #93 in this year’s Hottest 100. The album expands on the dreamy synth-pop sound St Lucia established on their first two EPs, St Lucia and September. It was self-produced by Grobler, with help from Chris Zane (Passion Pit), Rich Costey (Muse) and Andy Baldwin.
Supports on their Australian tour from Sydney five-piece The Griswolds, who are currently working with Tony Hoffer (The Kooks, Beck, M83) on a forthcoming LP. The first single should be out in April.
St Lucia tour dates:
