Breaking: Illness forces Frenzal Rhomb out of Descendents tour

Frenzal Rhomb have been forced to pull out of an upcoming tour with Descendents due to illness.

The following statement has been issued to media today:

Following a sudden and unexpected illness, a member of Frenzal Rhomb has been hospitalized and the band will be unable to honour their commitments to this national tour. Frenzal Rhomb apologise to all of their fans and friends, and ask that fans and media respect their privacy at this difficult time. The band will make another announcement in due course.

The announcement comes just days before the band’s four-date tour with the US punk legends, which kicks off at Eaton’s Hill in Brisbane this Wednesday, February 6. New Jersey’s Bouncing Souls and Bodyjar will perform as scheduled at dates in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. Dates below.

Gordy Forman from Frenzal Rhomb recently interviewed Bill Stevenson from Descendants about dodgy tattoos, Blink 182 and the band’s upcoming documentary, Filmage:The Story of Descendents/All. “The guys that filmed it are still sorting out distribution and all that other boring business stuff,” Stevenson said. “Yeah, we had a tonne of input. The dudes that filmed it are way cool.” Read the full interview here.
