Bluesfest add another huge international to the 2017 lineup

Bluesfest continues to grow bigger and bigger, with more acts added to the already-stacked lineup for 2017. Leading today’s announcement is none other than hip-hop luminary and 13-time Grammy nominee Nas, who will be delivering an exclusive performance with New Orleans brass ensemble The Soul Rebels.

This marks one of only a handful of times the Illmatic rapper will ever be seen performing with The Soul Rebels live. The move is particularly interesting after last year’s Bluesfest headliner Kendrick Lamar – while the decision was protested by some, the performance was clearly acclaimed enough to keep hip-hop at its fore.

Nas isn’t the only artist to be added to the bill today. Joining the lineup will be Australian legend Kasey Chambers, whose latest album – her 11th – premiered at the top of the ARIA charts, fellow ARIA chart toppers Busby Marou, South African flautist Wouter Kellerman, Australian folk-grunge duo Little Georgia, and Byron Bay singer Lucy Gallant.

The new names will be joining Patti Smith, Santana, Neil Finn, Mary J Blige, Madness, Mavis Staples and a tonne – like, a tonne more.

On top of the new lineup details, the festival have now announced the full schedule for playing times and stages – check it all out below, and visit the official website for more info and to purchase tickets.
