Big tours in 2011
The bastion of truth that is news.com reports that a slew of big name artists will be making their way to Australia in 2011.
According to the article that hotly tipped Kings Of Leon Australian tour will definitely go ahead in March, while a number of promoters are apparently “in talks” with The Boss in efforts to secure the first Bruce Springsteen tour Down Under since 2003.
The golden oldies are also flocking to our shores come 2011, with tours from ZZ Top and Van Halen looking likely for April and Billy Joel and Elton John rumoured for mid year tours.
As reported on FL last month Foo Fighters and Rolling Stones are hitting the road again very soon making return visits from both bands likely. News.com tells us that the Stones will make “stadium stopovers in Australia in 2012” and that the Foos will be here “in late 2011 or early 2012”. Big Day Out favourites Red Hot Chili Peppers, who are currently putting the finishing touches on their new album, are also tipped for an end of year visit.
And despite rumours circulating for the better part of the last decade that Paul McCartney will return to our shores, news.com notes that the ex-Beatle has just added South American dates to his 2011 tour which apparently “bodes well” for Australia.
