Big Sound 2010 line up grows
The lineup for Big Sound 2010 continues to grow with more world-class speakers and artists joining the conference and festival line up.
Leading the newest batch of speakers is lead by Ed Kuepper (The Saints, The Laughing Clowns, Bad Seeds); digital music specialist and former head of music with leading online service Last.FM; and Jonas Woost; co-founder of label that’s home to Foals, The Subways and Regina Spektor – Tim Dellow.
They will be joined by Editor-In-Chief of Australian Rolling Stone Mathew Coyte; Rod Kukla A&R with American Recordings – the label headed by iconic US producer Rick Rubin; LA-based Australian artist Simon Lewicki who released records as Groove Terminator moniker and scored a number one Billboard hit as Chili Hifly; and Mark T Grose from Australia’s most respected and successful indigenous music company, Skinnyfish Music.
These speakers add to an already bumper conference line-up that will feature leading industry figures from around Australia and the world including journalist and author Michael Azerrad, Michael Gudinski, and Big Sound 2010 keynote speaker John O’Donnell (Odfellows Publishing / Cold Chisel management).
Meanwhile Big Sound Live,brings an urban music festival to Fortitude Valley with six venues, including two outdoor stages, hosting 60 of the country’s most exciting acts across three nights.
New additions to the Big Sound Live line up include Bridezilla, The Gin Club, Hungry Kids of Hungary, Ernest Ellis, Fire! Santa Rosa, Fire!, The Holidays, The Jezabels, Parades, Stiff Gins and Bonjah.
The new Big Sound Live artists join Children Collide, Boy & Bear, The Vasco Era, The John Steel Singers and Last Dinosaurs – with dozens more to be announced in the coming weeks.
Big Sound runs in Brisbane from Wednesday 8th September to Friday 10th September.
