Beck hooks up with Flying Lotus: “It’s really quite dark”
Flying Lotus’ highly anticipated album Until The Quiet Comes, features guest appearances by Erykah Badu and Thom Yorke, but the Californian beatsmith has revealed that he also has a collaboration with Beck just waiting to be released.
“He hit me up after the last record and wanted to do something,” FlyLo told Drowned in Sound. “It sounds like [pioneering krautrock band] Can but fucked up. It’s really quite dark.”
There is no official release date but the producer says it’s “just fucking sitting there on my hard drive waiting for when the time is right”.
Between headlining Harvest in November, and the upcoming release of his innovative, controversial eleventh album in sheet-music format only, the spotlight is turning on Beck once more, so we can only hope that the time for release may be right sooner than later.
