Bat for Lashes unveiled on new cover
Natasha Khan has unveiled the cover art for the new Bat For Lashes record The Haunted Man, which is due for release in October.
The attention grabbing cover was shot by noted photographer Ryan McGinley, who also provided the equally naked cover imagry for Sigur Ros’ 2008 record Með suð à eyrum við spilum endalaust. Khan hasn’t commented on the inspiration behind the cover shoot with the Bat For Lashes Facebook page simply announcing: “The long awaited album The Haunted Man is released October 15th, with a cover shot by the revered photographer Ryan McGinley, who is known for his naturalistic imagery. Natasha appears naked and carrying a man around her shoulders.”
Ahead of the release of The Haunted Man, Khan and her band have premiered several new songs on tour in Europe including Rest Your Head, Laura, Oh Yeah, and A Wall. Laura has now been released as the album’s lead single. An announcement on the band’s Facebook page declares that the song is a “devastating, tear-stained swoon of a piano ballad featuring seductively sombre horns and strings is accompanied by a suitably heart-rending video” – see for yourself below.
